Glen Mhor Hotel
Big Flavour completely transformed the Glen Mhor Hotel’s online presence. A new, mobile-friendly website has helped us increase direct bookings, reducing commissions we pay to online travel agents like Booking.com. The new branding has filtered through all channels so that we have consistency and are instantly recognizable online.
They also set up targeted advertising and newsletter campaigns which has driven more traffic to our site and meant we have been able to grow awareness of the hotel.
Big Flavour relaunched the website and membership portal for AIR Hospitality – an organisation setup by myself and four other restauranteurs to unite independent operators within the hospitality industry. The new website helped drive more traffic and awareness of our organisation, which in turn led to a notable increase in member signups through the site.They were efficient and professional to work with, communicating regularly with myself and the AIR team throughout the website build process. Even more impressively, they managed to turn out the build of the website in under two weeks, due to a deadline we imposed as we had a large member event taking place and we wanted to announce the new website to everyone.
The Full Range
We first met Big Flavour, having shared a number of common clients. The Full Range offers food purchasing services to a wide range of businesses within the hospitality sector. We began discussing a partnership, with a view to working towards a common goal – to ensure that hotels, bars and restaurants receive a high-quality service at an affordable cost.
The Big Flavour team share the same passion and drive as The Full Range team, making them a natural fit for us as both a marketing agency and a partner company. For this reason, we chose them to deliver a new website and marketing strategy for us.
We first approached Big Flavour to assist with the marketing for our hotel in Pitlochry. The hotel’s website was outdated and there was no cohesive strategy in place to drive bookings direct.
Myself and the team at J&R were so impressed with the work they carried out that we decided to expand our relationship with them, meaning they began working with all of our hotels and restaurants across Scotland. Their team have brought a wealth of experience to the table and the quality of their work is evidenced in the fantastic new websites we have for all our properties.

Having worked with Big Flavour to develop a website for Krafty Brew, a craft beer brewery based in Linlithgow, I approached them to help with the marketing of EH6 Festival. When we first spoke, there was no website and the Festival didn’t rank in Google when you searched for it.
In collaboration with the Big Flavour team, we launched a fantastic new website and they ensured that it appeared in top positions if someone was to search for it by name or other related terms. The website played a key part in the overall success of the weekend.
I first spoke with Big Flavour prior to opening a new venue on Linlithgow High Street. They recognized the challenge of this venture and clearly outlined a strategy to ensure that the business was well represented online through a website and search engine optimization meaning that it ranked alongside our competitors, despite being a new venue.
The website they built is fantastic and Cafebar 1807 has been named as one of the best places to drink in Scotland so no complaints from me!
